We think that the theme is Friendship. We think this because Lyla and Jamie stick up for each other and are Best Friends (BF's). Lyla broke away from Jamie to be with the Popular group, but she broke up with the Popular group because they bullied Jamie and some other kids and Jamie knew about it so she came back to him. (Not in the Romantic way.)Gage stole a state test to be even with Lyla because she broke away from the celebrity table witch is the popularity group, the principle thought it was Lyla but it wasn't but she got in trouble even though she told the truth. As luck would have it Jamie saw Gage and told on her. We think that TRUE FRIENDS ARE PEOPLE WHO STAND UP FOR EACH OTHER AND DON'T BULLY EACH OTHER.

We think the theme is friendship because Amelia and Eleanor were very different in different ways but also alike. They both were independent like how most ladies wouldn't drive a car but Eleanor did and most ladies would not drive a plane but Amelia did. They were different because Eleanor was the First Lady and Amelia was the first girl to fly a plane across the Atlantic. Also just because Eleanor was the First Lady didn't stop her from being friends with Amelia, just because Amelia could fly a plane and Eleanor couldn't, it didn't break their friendship. And last but not least, even though Eleanor didn't give Amelia a gift and Amelia gave Eleanor one,Amelia didn't get mad and was still friends with Eleanor. The message in the book makes us think anyone can be friends with anyone.

I think that the theme is Friendship because in the story the people of the town are all friends and they all rely on each other. The two boys have a lot in common and start to be friends even though they both have different skin colors. The boys are brought together because they are just meant to be friends not because they are forced to be friends and that's what friendship is. This book makes me think that even if I hate somebody deep down I might just want to be their friend.
